Floral Garnet Shield Necklace - Cameron Art Museum Show Piece
Hand fabricated shield of sterling silver with silver flowers and rose cut garnets. This piece was in the State of the Art / Art of the State show at the Louise Wells Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC, from October 2014 through February 2015.
I made this piece specifically for the museum show it was in. The shield was hand cut from sterling silver sheet and hammered for textured. Each of the silver flowers has hand cut and hand domed, then soldered to the shield. I added two deep red rose cut garnets for a bit of color. The last pic shows how I mounted the pendant alone for the show. If you are interested in purchasing it in the shadowbox, please let me know.
The chain is a large cable chain that measures 20" (50/8 cm) long. The pendant is 2 3/4" (7 cm) long and 1 1/2" (3.8 cm) wide. The clasp is a handmade hook clasp. The silver has been oxidized to show the texture of the piece.
This piece will be shipped USPS First Class Mail with Tracking, Insurance, and Signature Confirmation. Please see my shipping policies for information regarding expedited and international shipping.
