Amethyst with Cacoxenite Necklace
Amethyst with cacoxenite paired with a faceted light purple amethyst stone sterling silver necklace.
Cacoxenite is a complicated mineral that often grows near or in amethyst quartz deposits. Some people think the cacoxenite detracts from the beauty of the amethyst - I do not. There are neat little mineral bundles of cacoxenite in this amethyst that glow a gorgeous amber brown when they catch the light just right. This pendant also features a oval faceted light purple amethyst set in a bezel. The pendant measures 1 3/8" (3.5 cm) wide and 1.5" (3.8 cm) long. There is a sterling silver fold formed feather feature to the right of the stone.
All metal materials are recycled sterling silver sheet or fine silver (99.9 % silver). The piece was oxidized to show the details of the fold forming. The chain is 18" (46 cm) long and closes with a sterling silver lobster claw clasp.
